John and his wife Krissy have called Mount Pleasant home since 1999, raising their three children through Mount Pleasant public schools.

Today, their children are thriving—one a student at the College of Charleston, one a Division I soccer player at Western Carolina University, and one attending Lucy Beckham High School. Like many local families, they’ve navigated the public school system, youth sports, and the challenges of a growing town—all while building their life here in Mount Pleasant.

A graduate of Johnson & Wales University with honors, John is a small business owner who turned a one-chef restaurant into a national catering company. In 2026, his company will celebrate its 25th anniversary, a testament to hard work, perseverance, and community support.

John understands firsthand the challenges that come with growth—and the need for solid infrastructure, clear communication, and responsible development. As a business owner, he knows how critical small businesses are to a healthy community: they create jobs, support schools and nonprofits, and keep Mount Pleasant’s character intact.

Now serving on Mount Pleasant Town Council, John is committed to protecting the character of our town, supporting families and small businesses, and ensuring that Mount Pleasant works for everyone—from longtime residents to the next generation.
